Hirschi Masonry is seeking a Commercial Estimator.

• Job Description:
  • Complete takeoffs in an accurate manner that is easy to understand to all.
  • Bid work, accurately, profitably, competitively and on time.
  • Price engineering accurately and completely.
  • Produce complete bid packages including all requested items to builders.
  • Keep up with the required schedule and bid dates. Make adjustments to other items as necessary to make sure the bid dates are met.
  • Be the main point of contact for builders and act as their Customer Representative.
  • Understand the builder philosophies, bid format, and presentation requirements.
  • Understand the builder Hierarchy and know who’s who with each assigned builder.
  • Value Engineer projects with builders to present the product they want at the best price.
  • Produce accurate informative Pre-Construction Transmittals for each project.
  • Provide accurate information to the permit department to obtain permits.
  • Understand permitting process in all municipalities.
  • Assist with field questions regarding assigned projects.
  • Work up additional price requests from the field in a timely manner.
  • Understand accounting and contractual procedures associated with each assigned project / builder.

  Job Qualifications:

  • Must be Proficient in Excel (required), Outlook, Word, PhotoShop (helpful).
  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly encouraged.
  • Must have the ability to work well in stressful situations and under deadlines.
  • Must be willing to put in the extra time if required to get the job done.
  • Must be self-motivated and detailed orientated.
  • Must be organized and able to self manage time and duties.
  • Must have the ability to delegate work and follow up with delegated tasks.
  • Must have a Go Getter Personality (wants to make systems better).
  • Must have a Construction background.
  • Must have the ability to read plans, engineering and grasp construction concepts.
  • Must have strong negotiation skills.
  • Must have Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
  • Must have a likeable personality and ability to get along with customers.
